Meet our Founder

With over 16 years of experience in education, Sharita Bourgeois-Clark is a passionate educator and visionary leader committed to academic excellence. She has served in both public and private school institutions, gaining valuable insight into the strengths and gaps within traditional education systems.
In her very first year teaching in public school, she was nominated for Teacher of the Year and later received Teacher of the Month, reflecting her dedication and impact in the classroom.
After witnessing students advance without mastering foundational skills, Sharita made a bold personal decision — she withdrew her own son from public school and homeschooled him for four years. She later homeschooled her daughter for four years as well. These experiences deepened her understanding of individualized instruction and reinforced her belief that strong academic foundations are essential in the early years.
Determined to provide that foundation for more families, she founded Brilliant Minds Christian Academy, a Christ-centered school committed to building confident learners, strong readers, and future leaders.
